The figuring is common in many varieties of the acer genus. Curly maple tiger maple is traditional hard maple sugar maple rock maple hard rock maple with a soft and flowing figure.

Curly maple or tiger maple so called for its abundant tiger stripe figuring is also not a specific species of maple. Curly hard maple has a tight sporadic curl most of the time but the figure in each board can vary making this a unique one of a kind lumber. While it is most commonly found in the softer maples it is also seen regularly in hard maples which is what we offer. Our curly maple lumber and curly hard maple lumber are both available in random widths and lengths as well as wide book matched and sets from the same log for consistent color and figure throughout.
