Spinmatic d rods are built using the same great quality as the original spinmatic rods but are now lighter and more sensitive. Ultra light 7 inch verified purchase i have two i use them for trout fishing and they do a wonderful job far casting smooth great action all around great rod. Just remeber it is an ultrlite pole so don t expect to be landing 20 pound fish with it unless you are careful. The cork is decent with some filler.

These rods are great for casting out lightweight baits that trout crappie and other panfish can t resist. I was scared daiwa spinmatic rods will be poor because for its price 44 99. But when it arrived i was shocked. One person found this helpful.

The spinmatic rod is also not as whippy as the presso which i think adds to the sensitivity. The guides are nothing special. Once sealed with cork sealer it has a nice yellowish cork finish. Unfortunately the pole broke on the 2nd smallest section during my 2nd fishing trip with this rod.
